Guan Eng Getting Anxious

Lim Guan Eng is slowly fading when he admitted yesterday that he is worried that Pakatan Rakyat might lose its power at Penang. His statement in a Chinese newspaper, Nanyang Siang Pau yesterday clear showed his low confidence in facing the next General Election (GE).

His worries were contributed by the work of BN in working to gain rakyat's support at the state, which showed multiple visits made by BN leaders around hot zones at the state. He is also worried regarding violent acts that are happening due to certain issues.

He added that it may be hard for PR to overcome BN when it comes to machinery, money and media, also known as the 3M where BN has the advantage as the central government. The new target, he said, is to win 100 from 222 seats that is seen as enough for PR as it would definitely create chaos in UMNO. When BN lost 2/3 of majority, Dato’ Seri Najib will certainly be challenged and his rival would help to beat BN.

That was the statement that came from Guan Eng himself. What is certain is that his anxiety is not just limited to a few things that he had mentioned above. But, the most critical factor would be he himself.

Before gaining power in Penang, Lim Guan Eng or DAP in general has always been connected to being racist chauvinist. The fact that DAP triggered May 13 can never be erased from history no matter how hard they try to change it.

When Guan Eng became Penang's Chief Minister, rakyat was warned with DAP's characteristics of such. It was proven that his fears are now turning to reality. Lim Guan Eng without guilt broke his promise with the Indians by seizing their lands and destroying shops and kampungs owned by Malays.

Political watchdogs and almost everyone could have seen clearly on how Lim Guan Eng chased away other races systematically by enforcing power and laws on them. Lands were seized to develop homes and high cost commercial areas to ensure that the Malays and Indians would be far behind when it comes to economy compared to the Chinese that later they might have to evade Penang.

Besides that, Guan Eng's dictatorship was so clear that it angered every single race, including Chinese themselves. Few of them include Lim Boo Chang, a former member of MPPP decided to quit from the party with the excuse that Lim Guan Eng practices dictatorship and autocratic and that he often threat and pushes in giving the SPICE project. That clearly portrayed that Guan Eng is not transparent and corrupted in providing state government projects.

Guan Eng also could not hide his hatred towards the Malays and this has always provide tension between him and Malay government officers. To make damage control, he had to lie just about everything.

Unfortunately, Malays are not as stupid as Guan Eng thought. One by one, his lies were exposed that he is now known as the Lying Chief Minister.

The behaviors of DAP's highest leader also could not help Guan Eng in raising rakyat's support. Too busy fighting for openness, claiming freedom of speech and freedom of the press, little do they know that DAP leader himself does not practice openness. DAP is famous with the culture of pressuring anyone who criticize their leadership. Not just that, they also boycott medias that criticize them. Just imagine how can Guan Eng raise rakyat's support when he himself is unworthy of his words.

And this does not even include the culture of cronyism and nepotism in DAP where only those who are related to the leaders will be given positions, This behavior of not trusting people has made DAP as the cold party and the party that does not really care for rakyat.

All these are the factors that had caused Guan Eng to los faith in winning the next GE. Maybe he would not admit too all of that but we are convinced that deep in him, he knows his limit in administrating a state. A proud man would often make mistake as he would not accept criticism and advice.

However this goes, whether Penang fall or not, it does not mean that PR is safe. the 100 seats targeted by PR could be said as an ambition that is simply too high as Selangor is currently filled with garbage and potholes due to the corruption of the state government. Even Kedah and Kelantan seemed to be on the edge.

Due to that, Guan Eng's anxiety is correct with the political environment nowadays. Rakyat is no longer mad with BN like how it was in 2008. Rakyat are now raged with PR, as it is not even a full term, multiple scandals had occurred.
